Terms of Service

Last updated: 24 May 2026 · Please read these terms carefully before using Voter's Manifesto.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Voter's Manifesto at votersmanifesto.in (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms in full, please do not use the Platform.

These terms apply to all visitors, registered users, and anyone who accesses or uses the Platform in any capacity, including via automated tools.

2. About the Platform

Voter's Manifesto is a non-partisan, non-profit civic platform that publishes, tracks and makes searchable election manifesto data from Indian political parties. Our mission is to promote transparency, political accountability and informed voting across India.

  • We are not affiliated with any political party, government body, the Election Commission of India, or any commercial advertiser.
  • The Platform is provided free of charge and is intended for every eligible Indian voter.
  • Manifesto data is sourced from publicly available documents including official party manifestos, press releases, and parliamentary records.

3. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or post Public Demands. This is India's legal voting age and reflects our target audience.
  • By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to agree to these terms.
  • The Platform is intended primarily for users in India, though it is accessible globally.

4. User Accounts

A registered account is required only to post Public Demands. All other features — browsing, comparing, tracking promises and anonymous upvoting — are available without an account.

  • You must provide accurate, current and complete information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You may not create multiple accounts, share accounts, or impersonate any person or organisation.
  • You must notify us immediately at votersmanifesto@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these terms, without prior notice.

5. Public Demands

Registered users may submit Public Demands — citizen requests addressed to political parties and governments. The Public Demands feature is governed by additional rules:

Permitted content

  • Genuine civic demands and policy suggestions addressed to political parties or governments
  • Demands that are factual, constructive and respectful in tone
  • Demands that comply with all applicable Indian laws

Prohibited content

  • Defamatory, abusive, threatening, obscene or hateful content
  • Content that incites violence, communal tension or discrimination based on religion, caste, gender, region or any other ground
  • Misinformation, false news or misleading political content
  • Personal information of others without their explicit consent
  • Spam, repetitive demands, or content posted for commercial purposes
  • Impersonation of political figures, parties, government officials or other users
  • Content that violates any applicable law including the Information Technology Act 2000

Moderation

  • We reserve the right to remove any demand without prior notice if it violates these terms.
  • By submitting a demand, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, store and moderate it on the Platform.
  • Demands are public — they are visible to all site visitors including unauthenticated users and search engines.

6. Accuracy of Information

We strive to maintain accurate and current manifesto data. However, you acknowledge that:

  • Manifesto data is sourced from publicly available documents and may not reflect real-time policy changes or party positions.
  • Promise status (Fulfilled, In Progress, Broken, Unknown) reflects our assessment based on available information and may be subjective or incomplete.
  • Election results data is sourced from official sources but may contain minor discrepancies.
  • The Platform is intended as an informational tool and should not be the sole basis for voting decisions.
  • We are not liable for any decisions made based on information displayed on the Platform.

If you identify inaccurate information, please email us at votersmanifesto@gmail.com and we will review it promptly.

7. Intellectual Property

  • The Voter's Manifesto platform, including its design, logo, code, original content, and the "Voter's Manifesto" name, is owned by us and protected under applicable intellectual property law.
  • You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify or create derivative works of our original platform content without prior written permission.
  • Political party manifestos and official election data are in the public domain and are not claimed as our intellectual property.
  • User-submitted demands remain your intellectual property. You retain ownership but grant us the licence described in Section 5.
  • You may share links to the Platform and its content freely, provided proper attribution is given.

8. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Platform to:

  • Spread misinformation, political propaganda, or content designed to mislead voters
  • Conduct automated scraping, crawling, or bulk data extraction without our prior written permission
  • Attempt to hack, disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to our servers or database

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:
